My Recount and My Reflection

My Life Went To Waste

It’s 2am. On the 25th of April 1915. You are probably thinking who am I. Well I’m Connor McGrath.  It is pitch black.  All of my friends are ready to kill and fight but I’m wishing that my gun was working but it is not. My sniper breaks.

All of a sudden there is a big BOOM!!! The boat flies into  mid air and lands upside down in the blood red sea.

I’m hanging off the boat with hardly any grip. My heavy bag is pulling me down into the blood red sea. I can feel water filling my uniform.

Peace One Day

As part of  our Inquiry work on Peaceful Communities we have been  learning about World Peace Day  on September 21st. On Friday 19th September we held a Taster Shared Lunch with Rooms  19 and 22.   We  had to bring in a small sample of a food that we might eat at home as a family favourite  or a food from our culture.  This helps us to learn about each other’s cultures and about tolerance of others.

Area Evidence

I am learning to solve area problems by using the formula  length x width.

I am so proud of learning how to measure the width and length and then using this to work out the area of a shape.

It can be tricky to multiply the length times the breadth if the numbers are big.

My Speech

My Speech about Hot Chocolate

Do you agree with me that  hot chocolate should be sold for $1.00 dollar at our lunchroom instead of $2.00 dollars?

* Why is hot chocolate not $1.00 at Elm Park

school? Just now it costs $2.00 to buy a hot chocolate from our lunchroom. I think it would  be better if it was  cheaper  to buy hot chocolate because more people would buy it from the lunch room from Mrs De Villiers.  

* I feel that our school should sell the hot chocolate for $1.00. The reason I feel this way is because I think more people would buy the hot chocolate as it would be more affordable for more people.  Just now is the winter season. It is cold for everyone in the morning. The year’s  1, 2 and 3’s could  become really cold and it could be bad for them if they catch a cold, but if they were able to buy a hot chocolate in the morning this would help to keep them warm in the cold mornings and hopefully stop them from catching the cold.  Just now they can’t buy one as it costs too much.

Mrs de Villiers could be helpful by making the hot chocolates cost only $1.00 and make it more affordable for more people to buy it.

This money will go to  help the year 6’s next year so the more people that buy hot chocolate the more money will be raised for the school.

* People always seem to have $1.00 in their pockets, but when the hot chocolate is $2.00 people don't have enough money and this stops the students and teachers from buying it.

* So my conclusion— If the hot chocolate is $1.00

people will buy more and this will increase the

schools profit. Over the wet or cold winter days,

students and teachers will want to try and keep warm and drinking hot chocolate  is a great way of doing this and at the same time making profits for the school.

So my time is up so I hope Mrs De Villiers will make the price $1.00 dollar and not keep it the hot chocolate At $2.00 dollars.

I am learning to use the RACECAR problem solving strategy.

I am so proud of using a new strategy for my Maths.

I have read this book called Twist of Gold. 

I like this book because it is very cool.

I think I will give it a ten out of ten and it made me feel that I was in the story.
